I am a sustainable tourism consultant with over 10 years’ experience in communications and stakeholder engagement, and five years’ experience in the tourism sector in emerging destinations. I have advised governments and international donor organisations on various projects to plan and implement more responsible tourism in Georgia, Armenia, Serbia and Albania. I have experience in tourism impact assessment, mountain and Protected Areas tourism, product development, and destination marketing and management, including working on the national and two regional marketing and branding strategies for Georgia.

I have a particular interest in Georgia and the Caucasus region. For the MSc in Responsible Tourism Management, I have focussed all my academic research on Georgian tourism in the mountains and in Protected Areas. I am currenty researching and analysing the community-Park relationships in Tusheti Protected Area in eastern Georgia. I am also working on a Good Practice Guide on the Protected Areas response to COVID-19 and plan for a more resilient tourism in the future.
I have spoken at several conferences related to sustainable tourism, written several articles, completed the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training Program by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council in July 2017 and was later invited as a guest speaker for the online course for UN Development Programme in Armenia PM4SD blended training program .
