I am a sustainable tourism specialist with communications and stakeholder engagement background, specialising in sustainable destination management and Protected Areas tourism. I have advised and provided trainings on responsible tourism development for governments, tourism boards and international donor organisations in the South Caucasus, Western Balkans and Easter Europe. I am a mentor and Associate Staff member at Leeds Beckett University for the MSc in Responsible Tourism Management course, focussing all my academic research on mountain and Protected Areas tourism.
I have experience in tourism impact assessment, mountain and Protected Areas tourism, product development, and destination marketing and management, including working on the national and two regional marketing and branding strategies for Georgia. I am currently leading group work as a tutor for the six-week online training course on sustainable tourism management in natural areas post-Covid as well as delivering workshops on improving destination stewardhip for regional DMOs in Poland.
